The Restaurant...

We want your dining experience at Hipping Hall to be a real treat; something very special indeed.

Oli, and his team in the kitchen take great pleasure in producing fabulous food with amazing ingredients sourced from the rugged borders of Lancashire, Cumbria and Yorkshire.

We serve Dinner every evening and Lunch on Saturdays and Sundays in our wonderfully unique 15th Century Dining Room.

Every night we offer three menus. A nine course tasting, a six course tasting and a three course table d’hôte menu. Both menus burst with local and seasonal flavour and all dietary requirements are catered for.

We’ve taken as much time choosing our wines as we have sourcing all of the ingredients for our menus. We are rightly proud of the list and hope you enjoy looking at what we have to offer. Alternatively, you can let us do the hard work as we have matched glasses of wine to every course of each menu.

Head Chef

Born and raised in Lancashire, Oli Martin first experienced kitchen life washing pots in a local restaurant. A taste for the industry soon attracted him to some of the North-West’s finest establishments to gain vital experience in classical cooking.

A two year trip to Australia and Asia showed him how to break the mould and rewrite the rules.

Oli seeks to combine the principles of ‘Purity, simplicity and freshness’ to the dishes he creates using amazing local and seasonal ingredients. His brief, minimalistic menu descriptions echo his humble, understated and playful nature yet belie the effort and technique that goes into creating each stunning plate of food.
